Chartered in 2004, SAAO at Berkeley Optometry is a student-lead organization dedicated to providing tomorrow's Doctors of Optometry opportunities to engage in the most advanced knowledge and technology of vision care.

 

The goal of the Berkeley Optometry student chapter of the American Academy of Optometry is to encourage optometrists-in-training to maintain and enhance excellence in optometric practice through an emphasis on programs that disseminate knowledge in both the basic and applied vision sciences. The Berkeley Optometry student chapter accomplishes this goal by promoting awareness of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) at the optometry-school level and participation in events sponsored by the AAO.
